My Story

Hi there! 

I'm Erin! I'm a boy mom (times three! -- autism mom & twin mom are my specialties), lucky and loved wife, coffee addict, and creative late bloomer. Growing up, I always felt a hint of envy that my parents had a bigger streak of creative excellence than I felt I possessed.

My dad was a talented woodworker and stained glass craftsman; my mom is a seasoned painter (both canvas and faux finishes), mosaic artist and an intimidatingly good gardener. I didn't have much more than my love of the written word, but writing never satisfied the craving I had for an artistic outlet.

My mom would tell me, "just wait...you'll find something you love. Give it time. I didn't find my stride until I was in my 30's!"

Well, she was right. 

With my dear husband, twin boys and a third little boy to round out the family circus, here I am, significantly into that forecasted time frame, and I finally found my stride. Crafting started as a hobby to make those fun graphic tees I'd seen at Target, and maybe a car sticker to announce the fact that I'm a proud autism mom, and it evolved quickly into something way bigger than that. The creative boss babe who had been sitting quietly inside me refused to sit silent any longer.

After building a small customer base under the little craft shop that I lovingly started, learning a truck-load of lessons along the way, I landed where we are as you read this: 

The place my creative soul was meant to be all along: Blue Sky Customs. 

I live in North Texas in our forever home, bustling with three loud little superhuman boys, my husband who, I'm certain, was cut out of the stars just for me, and our loving and deliciously dopey rescue dog, Luna.
